Our services in the field of clinical chemistry
Clinical chemistry covers a multitude of tests and analyses that are carried on biological samples such as blood, urine or other bodily fluids.
-

-
These tests are used to measure the concentrations of different chemical substances in the body and in order to obtain information about a patient’s state of health.
-
Some of the key tasks carried out by our clinical chemistry laboratories are:
- Diagnosis of diseases: Clinical chemistry tests are used to diagnose a range of diseases and health conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, liver and kidney disorders, thyroid disorders, and many more.
- Monitoring of diseases: Clinical chemistry tests are also used to monitor the course of disease and to assess the efficacy of treatments. For example, regular blood tests are carried out for diabetes patients to monitor the blood sugar level and and adapt the treatment.
- Determining risk factors: Some clinical chemistry tests also measure certain risk factors for diseases, such as the cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood, to assess the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
- Drug monitoring: Clinical chemistry tests can be used to measure concentrations of drugs in the blood and ensure they are within the therapeutic range without resulting in toxicity.
