Sonic Suisse | A Swiss network of regional laboratories

Dr Risch, Medisupport, Medisyn & Medica have joined forces to form an extensive Swiss network of local laboratories under the name Sonic Suisse.

Sonic Suisse employs around 2,500 people who are committed to the well-being of our customers and their patients. High quality standards and ongoing training of our staff guarantee the safety and relevance of our analyses and test results.

Sonic Suisse offers general practitioners, specialists and hospital customers the full range of routine and specialized laboratory medicine services, including pathology and human genetics.

Sonic Suisse is part of the Sonic Healthcare group, one of the world's leading providers of medical diagnostic services.

Almost 70 years of laboratory experience

The oldest laboratory in the Sonic Suisse network is the BBR SA medical analysis laboratory in Lausanne, which opened its doors in 1953 and is now part of Medisyn. In 1956, Dr. E. Lambelet founded the Zurich laboratory we know today as medica. In 1957, Bioanalytica - today part of Medisupport - was established in Lucerne. In 1970, Dr. G. Risch opened his laboratory in Schaan, Liechtenstein.

From 2007, Medica became part of the Sonic network, followed by Medisupport in 2015, Medisyn in 2023 and Dr. Risch in 2024.
